I’ve been writing press releases, both for offline and online marketing, for around 20 years, and its true that the internet has changed how they are created and distributed.
Online press releases are increasingly being used as an SEO tool. However, I wanted to share with you a recent example of how one had a more tangible effect.
A consultant clients invested in one of my nice content packages, one that included several online press releases. In creating the first release, we leveraged a major industry event that was being held in her regional area.
A local television channel picked it up, she was interviewed, and appeared on a news feature that evening. Next day, she was contacted by several potential clients, one who wanted to move very quickly on a website build – to get better exposure to, and hopefully more business from, delegates at the industry event.
So she came back to me to write the content for the new client’s website – and because we have developed a sound business relationship, I was happy to pull out all stops to accommodate her request.
Result:
Press release established consultant’s authority
News appearance reinforced it
- My client is happy – her client list is growing
- Her client is happy – he now has a modern business presence
- I’m happy – that my content has helped two businesses to grow
I think that’s a Win Win Win.
