Over the last 12 months I have been in touch with Dave Clarkson, a tradesman from Brisbane. I met him at FastWebFormula in Sydney in March 2010, and we are both members of the SuperFastResults internet marketing and online business Forum.
Dave was a complete novice when our paths crossed, but his tenacity and will to succeed has driven him to learn about things that were WAY outside of his comfort zone. Dave races rally cars, and he makes parts for them – and he is also an internet marketer.
I asked Dave if he would share his story on a Skype interview, and when he agreed, we decided to be way too clever and video record the call as well, and split the screen so you could see us both! Some of the sound is a bid dodgy in parts, but I’m sure you will agree that Dave has climbed a very steep learning curve, with the support of our forum members and his learnings from FastWebFormula.
I think Dave proves that complete novices are able to learn the skills needed to become an internet marketer.
This is very a inspiring interview, especially for someone like me who is just beginning to dip her toes into the huge ocean that is internet marketing.
Are there many people from outside of Australia that attend Fast Web Formula?
Living in the US, it may be a bit beyond my pocketbook to attend, but I’m very interested in any suggestions you may have as to how I may benefit from the wealth of knowledge generated from this event.

I know traveling to Australia can be daunting, both physically and financially, so its good to know that James films his events as well, and many people from all around the world benefit from the content on these. They record the full 3 days of the events.

Usually when I think of doing business online, what comes to mind are big “gurus” standing in front of their huge houses and their ultra-expensive cars. While nothing is wrong with that ambition, that is really not what I aspire to.
So, it is very encouraging for me to read about and listen to people I can relate to who are utilizing the web to share their unique talents, skills and services, and to hear that they are actually making an income from their endeavors.
I wish Dave much luck in his future efforts!
