One of the most effective types of website content is video – effective in engaging site visitors and for improving search engine results. Short-sharp videos can be seen on the home pages and blog posts of electricians, lawyers, paint manufacturers – just about any type of business.
Marketing videos that have been specially created for embedding on websites have the ability, when well produced and well scripted, to engage viewers and deliver a product or service message in an easily digested way. They may feature the business owner or representative, paid talent, or graphics, but whatever format they take, they connect with people – they are a great way to introduce a new product, or give a summary of a blog post on the same page (the video/text combination is VERY powerful).
I’ve seen a growing trend to video as a way of complementing text content, and a standard introductory video, often found within a home page slider or side panel, is around 1 minute in length. This is enough to engage website visitors to the point where they will want to find out more by following a call-to-action (CTA) within the video or nearby on the page. They are a great way to encourage prospective clients to ask for more information (contact) or download a report/subscribe to a service (list building/enter sales funnel).
This move towards video has seen increasing requests from my clients for 1 minute marketing video scripts – scripts that are engaging and succinct. It is an ideal opportunity for me to combine both my marketing and writing skills.
